About
The information contained within this website has been published to serve as a helpful Scriptural reference guide for the Children of יהוה, as we daily strive to fully love our Father with all of our hearts, minds, and souls. We seek to nurture an intimate relationship with יהוה by studying His Words, learning His Ways, knowing His Character, doing His Commands, and following after the perfect example provided by His Son, יהושע, our Messiah (“Annointed”) – just as our Father instructed us to do.
We are dedicated to returning to the ancient paths, “where the good way is”, and walking in them to find true rest for ourselves, as our Father spoke of through the prophet, Yirmeyahu (“Jeremiah”).
‘Thus said יהוה, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and find rest for yourselves. But they said, ‘We do not walk in it.’’
– Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 6:16
Within our journey of spiritual restoration, we regularly study the Words of יהוה through the lens and language of the Ancient Hebrew authors who originally penned it, as we find this method vastly improves our understanding of our Father, as well as ourselves and each other. יהושע Messiah taught us the importance of knowing where we came from in order to know where we are going.
‘יהושע answered and said to them, “Even if I witness concerning Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going. But you do not know from where I come, or where I go.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 8:14
Scriptural Considerations
The TaNaKh (called the “Old Testament” in English) actually constitutes a series of 24 different scrolls penned in Hebrew (meaning “One from Beyond”) by many separate Semitic authors over the course of many generations. By modern standards, it is a full personal library of books. The word “TaNaKh” is an acronym that stands for the first letter of three Hebrew words, “Torah” (meaning “Instructions”), “Nebi’im” (meaning “Prophets”) and “Ketubim” (meaning “Writings”). These designators partition the scrolls into three categorical sections. The first five scrolls of the TaNaKh are collectively referred to as the Torah – or sometimes, “the Torah of Mosheh” (“Moses”). Meanwhile, the Nebi’im contains the scrolls of the nineteen different prophets, and the Ketubim contains eleven scrolls, including Tehillim (“Psalms”) and Mishle (“Proverbs”), among others.
Meanwhile, “B’rit Chadashah” is the Hebrew title for the books referred to as the “New Testament”, a phrase which means “Renewed Covenant“. יהושע Messiah and his Twelve Apostles are the subjects of these writings, and all of them were Hebrew men who spoke and wrote in a dialect based on their native tongue.
Guarding the Words of יהוה
Even though יהוה repeatedly warned us not to add to nor subtract from His Words, the most popular Ancient Greek, Ancient Latin, Old English, and modern English translations of the TaNaKh all completely changed the very Name of יהוה over 6,500 times, outright replacing it with another word, altogether – both altering its meaning, and diminishing the personal and intimate tone His Name confers, in the process.
‘“Do not add to the Word which I command you, and do not take away from it, so as to guard the commands of יהוה your Elohim which I am commanding you.’
– Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 4:2
‘All the words I am commanding you, guard to do it – do not add to it nor take away from it.’
– Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 12:32
‘Do not add to His Words, Lest He reprove you, and you be found a liar.’
– Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 30:6
Instead of merely “Hellenizing”, “Romanizing” or “Anglicizing” the Name of יהוה, the vast majority of translations of our Father’s Words among the Nations throughout the ages have exploited a rare opportunity to essentially reinvent our Father in the image of their own mighty ones. These adulterated reproductions have not only removed our Father’s Name from His Word, but have added in its place earthly titles held by only the most wealthy and powerful members of their individual societies – namely royalty and rich land-owners. This concerted effort to conflate and confuse the Name of our Just and Merciful Father with that of our cruel and capricious human masters has helped perpetrate the deception that the most abusive members of society are Set-Apart (“Holy”) and baruk (“blessed”) by our Father. Whether called “Kyrios” (“κύριος“) among Grecians, “Dominus” among Romans, or “Lord” among the English, this trend of Name Substitution for יהוה has transcended both nation and era as it has consistently proven to be a highly-effect tactic of spiritual warfare for protecting the rich and powerful from the masses whom they oppress.
The practice of Name Substitution for יהוה among the Nations’ translations of the Father’s Words is not a new invention. It faithfully follows in the footsteps of the Hebrew Talmudists, who had set the course way back in the 3rd century BC, when the Rabbinic Yehudim (“Judeans”) had ceased speaking the Name of יהוה out loud, replacing it with the Hebrew word, “Adonai” (meaning “My Master”), keeping the taught tradition that our Father’s Name as too Set-Apart to be spoken, nor written. Incidentally, these were the same men who יהושע Messiah, condemned as hypocrites when he walked the earth. With all of this human meddling, which still continues to this very day, our Father has not been truly called upon by His Set-Apart Name nor fully recognized by the quality of His Set-Apart Character for thousands of years among both the Yehudim and the organized religions of the Nations.
Honoring the Name of יהוה
Aside from warning us not to add to nor subtract from His Words, יהוה also warned us not to bring His Name to naught, nor to make mention of the name of other mighty ones. Therefore, the historical trend of Name Substitution regarding our Father’s Name violates His Commands in more ways than one.
‘“You do not bring the Name of יהוה your Elohim to naught, for יהוה does not leave the one unpunished who brings His Name to naught.’
– Shemoth (Exodus) 20:7
‘“And in all that I have said to you take heed. And make no mention of the name of other mighty ones, let it not be heard from your mouth.’
– Shemoth (Exodus) 23:13
‘“I am יהוה, that is My Name, and My esteem I do not give to another, nor My praise to idols.’
– Yeshayah (Isaiah) 42:8
Meanwhile, through the prophet, Yirmeyahu, יהוה exposed the false pen of the scribes with regard to His Torah, warning us that they cause lack of knowledge about His Right-Ruling among those of His People who study His Word. Along with this, the prophet, Hoshea (“Hosea”), revealed His People’s lack of knowledge to be a deadly result of their Priests rejecting knowledge.
‘“Even a stork in the heavens knows her appointed times. And a turtledove, and a swallow, and a thrush guard the time of their coming. But My people do not know the right-ruling of יהוה. “How do you say, ‘We are wise, and the Torah of יהוה is with us’? But look, the false pen of the scribe has worked falsehood.’
– Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 8:7-8
‘“My people have perished for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being priest for Me. Since you have forgotten the Torah of your Elohim, I also forget your children.’
– Hoshĕa (Hosea) 4:6
Restoring the Name and Character of יהוה
Mosheh was a Hebrew Levite, a member of the Set-Apart Priestly line of the 12 Tribes of Yisra’el. In the Scroll of Shemoth (a Hebrew word, meaning “Names“), our Father spoke with Mosheh and revealed His Name to be יהוה, a Hebrew word most accurately transliterated into English as “Yahuah” (“YHWH“), and best translated as “HE IS AND IS“, a definition which perfectly conveys His Everlasting Existence. In keeping with standard indigenous customs of ancient times, our Father’s Name doubles as a representation of His Character, which the word “Shemoth” also doubles to mean in Hebrew.
‘And Mosheh said to Elohim, “See, when I come to the children of Yisra’ĕl and say to them, ‘The Elohim of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His Name?’ what shall I say to them?” And Elohim said to Mosheh, “I am that which I am.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Yisra’ĕl, ‘I am has sent me to you.’ ” And Elohim said further to Mosheh, “Thus you are to say to the children of Yisra’ĕl, ‘יהוה [“He is and is”] Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Aḇraham, the Elohim of Yitsḥaq, and the Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ, has sent me to you. This is My Name forever, and this is My remembrance to all generations.’
– Shemoth (Exodus) 3:13-15
The Everlasting Existence of יהוה is a fundamental trait of His Character exalted in the Tehillim of King Dawid (“David”) as well as the Scroll of Yeshayah (“Isaiah”) the Prophet.
‘Before the mountains were born, Or You had brought forth the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting You are Ěl.’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 90:2
‘Did you not know? Have you not heard? The everlasting Elohim, יהוה, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.’
– Yeshayah (Isaiah) 40:28
When יהוה first spoke His Name to Mosheh, He also called Himself “I AM THAT WHICH I AM“, revealing Himself to also be the Self-Existing One. Before יהוה revealed His Name and the traits of His Character to Mosheh, He was previously known as “El Shaddai” (“Mighty One Self-Sufficient“) to Abraham, Yitshaq (“Isaac”), and Ya’aqob (“Jacob”).
‘And Elohim spoke to Mosheh and said to him, “I am יהוה. “And I appeared to Aḇraham, to Yitsḥaq, and to Ya‛aqoḇ, as Ěl Shaddai. And by My Name, יהוה, was I not known to them?’
– Shemoth (Exodus) 6:2-3
Ancient Greek translators took liberties in changing the title of the Scroll of Shemoth (“Names“) to “Exodus” (“ἔξοδος“), as their substitution effectively shifted the focus of this text from the Name of יהוה and of His Children to the escape of the formerly-enslaved Hebrews from their captors in Mitsrayim (“Egypt”). And, much like the practice of Name Substitution, this tradition of Chapter Title Substitution was upheld within later English translations.
We appreciate the Name of יהוה beyond the matter of pronunciation, as we place greater focus on the meaning “HE IS AND IS” conveys about the Everlasting Existence of our Father. We embrace this as an individual invitation to nurture the development of a close and familial relationship with Him, based in an intimate knowledge and personal understanding of His Character.
‘O יהוה, our Master, how excellent is Your Name in all the earth, You who set Your splendour above the heavens!’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 8:1
‘O יהוה, Your Name is forever, O יהוה, Your remembrance to all generations,’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 135:13
‘The Name of יהוה is a strong tower; The righteous run into it and are safe.’
– Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 18:10
‘For all the peoples walk, each one in the name of his mighty one, but we walk in the Name of יהוה our Elohim forever and ever.’
– Miḵah (Micah) 4:5
Through His prophet, Tsephanyah (“Zephaniah”) our Father revealed a future time when He would return His Children to a pure language, for them to call upon the Name of יהוה and serve Him as one united body, while the prophet Zekaryah (“Zechariah”) witnessed a future time where our Father’s Name would be restored to full glory.
‘“For then I shall turn unto the peoples a clean lip, so that they all call on the Name of יהוה, to serve Him with one shoulder.’
– Tsephanyah (Zephaniah) 3:9
‘And יהוה shall be Sovereign over all the earth. In that day there shall be one יהוה, and His Name one.’
– Zeḵaryah (Zechariah) 14:9
Guarding the Ten Words of יהוה
We regard the Ten Words of יהוה (“Ten Commandments”) as the most SET-APART portion of Scripture, next to יהושע Messiah, himself. We view them as pure, perfect, peaceful, just, universal, trustworthy, everlasting, heavenly instructions from our Father. They are distinguished as being the ONLY PORTION OF SCRIPTURES EVER WRITTEN DIRECTLY BY HIM. According to the Torah of Mosheh, יהוה ENGRAVED HIS TEN WORDS IN STONE USING HIS OWN FINGER, and did so as a witness to His Covenant with His Children.
‘And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Come up to Me on the mountain and be there, while I give you tablets of stone, and the Torah and the command which I have written, to teach them.”’
– Shemoth (Exodus) 24:12
‘And when He had ended speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Mosheh two tablets of the Witness, tablets of stone, written with the finger of Elohim.’
– Shemoth (Exodus) 31:18
‘“And יהוה spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard a voice of words, but saw no form, you only heard a voice. “And He made known to you His covenant which He commanded you to do, the Ten Words, and He wrote them on two tablets of stone. “And יהוה commanded me at that time to teach you laws and right-rulings, for you to do them in the land which you pass over to possess.’
– Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 4:12-14
Due to the great significance of His Ten Words, יהוה directed Mosheh to place the two stone tablets upon which He wrote them into the Ark of His Covenant.
‘And I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tablets in the ark which I had made. And they are there, as יהוה commanded me.”’
– Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 10:5
Further highlighting their distinction, יהוה then directed Mosheh to store the Ark of His Covenant containing His Ten Words behind a veil within the Most Set-Apart Place inside of His Tabernacle.
‘“And you shall hang the veil from the hooks, and shall bring the ark of the Witness there, behind the veil. And the veil shall make a separation for you between the Set-apart and the Most Set-apart Place. “And you shall put the lid of atonement upon the ark of the Witness in the Most Set-apart Place.’
– Shemoth (Exodus) 26:33-34
יהושע Messiah Restored the Ten Words of יהוה
Thousands of years later, the Ten Words of יהוה were restored to their position of high prominence in the Book of Revelation, long after the crucifixion of יהושע Messiah, when His Apostle Yochanan (“John”) witnessed a future time of Tribulation, during which the Temple of יהוה opened in the Kingdom of the Heavens, revealing the return of the Ark of His Covenant.
“And the Dwelling Place of Elohim was opened in the heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His Dwelling Place. And there came to be lightnings, and voices, and thunders, and an earthquake, and great hail.’
– Ḥazon (Revelation) 11:19
This was previously written of in the Tehillim of King Dawid.
‘To those who guard His covenant, And to those who remember His orders to do them. יהוה has established His throne in the heavens, And His reign shall rule over all.’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 103:18-19
In the Book of Revelation, יהושע Messiah also showed his Apostle Yochanan the set-apart ones who guard and do the Commands of יהוה, revealing that they have been blessed with the authority to enter through the gates into the Kingdom of the Heavens and access the Tree of Life due to their endurance.
‘Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of Elohim and the belief of יהושע.’
– Ḥazon (Revelation) 14:12
‘“Blessed are those doing His commands, so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city.’
– Ḥazon (Revelation) 22:14
In a number of the Gospels, when יהושע Messiah was asked how to attain everlasting life, he repeatedly quoted directly from the Ten Words of יהוה.
‘And see, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good shall I do to have everlasting life?” And He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One – Elohim. But if you wish to enter into life, guard the commands.” He said to Him, “Which?” And יהושע said, ” ‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ ‘Respect your father and your mother,’ and ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ ”’
– Mattithyahu (Matthew) 19:16-19
‘And as He was setting out on the way, one came running, and knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit everlasting life?” And יהושע said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One – Elohim. You know the commands, ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not rob,’ ‘Respect your father and your mother.’’
– Marqos (Mark) 10:17-19
‘And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit everlasting life?” So יהושע said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One – Elohim. You know the commands, ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Respect your father and your mother.’’
– Luqas (Luke) 18:18-20
Following the Ten Words of יהוה are of the utmost importance to our Walk of Faith with Him and with His Son, יהושע Messiah. We seek to treasure our Father’s Words by keeping them written in our hearts, always, while diligently doing them in order to live and to inherit everlasting life within His Kingdom of the Heavens.
‘“And you shall guard My commands and do them. I am יהוה.’
– Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 22:31
‘My son, guard my words, And treasure up my commands with you. Guard my commands and live, And my Torah as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart.’
– Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 7:1-3
יהושע Restored the Two Great Commands of יהוה
The Gospels reveal that יהושע Messiah restored the Two Great Commands of יהוה upon which all of our Father’s Commands hang to their rightful place as foundational.
‘And one of them, one learned in the Torah, did question, trying Him, and saying, Teacher, which is the great command in the Torah? And יהושע said to him, ” ‘You shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind.’ “This is the first and great command. And the second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ On these two commands hang all the Torah and the Prophets.’
– Mattithyahu (Matthew) 22:35-40
‘And one of the scribes coming near, hearing them reasoning together, knowing that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first command of all?” And יהושע answered him, “The first of all the commands is, ‘Hear, O Yisra’ĕl, יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one. ‘And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first command. And the second, like it, is this, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no other command greater than these.
– Marqos (Mark) 12:28-31
The Two Great Commands of יהוה taugh by יהושע Messiah were originally written in the Torah of Mosheh.
‘‘Do not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the children of your people. And you shall love your neighbour as yourself. I am יהוה.’
– Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 19:18
‘“Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one! “And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might. And these Words which I am commanding you today shall be in your heart, and you shall impress them upon your children, and shall speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up, and shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.’
– Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 6:4-8
Through the prophet, Zekaryah, יהוה reminded us to execute true right-ruling, showing mercy, loving-commitment and compassion to each other.
‘“Thus said יהוה of hosts, ‘Execute true right-ruling, show loving-commitment and compassion everyone to his brother. “Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the stranger or the poor. And do not plot evil in your hearts against one another.’’
– Zeḵaryah (Zechariah) 7:9-10
יהושע Messiah blessed the compassionate, revealing the Heavenly relationship between giving mercy to others, and being shown mercy by יהוה.
‘“Blessed are the compassionate, because they shall obtain compassion.’
– Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:7
יהושע Messiah‘s Apostle Ya‛aqoḇ (“James”) provided more insight on the importance of compassion.
‘Clean and undefiled religion before the Elohim and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.’
– Ya‛aqoḇ (James) 1:27
‘So speak and so do as those who are to be judged by a Torah of freedom. For the judgment is without compassion to the one who has shown no compassion. And compassion boasts over judgment. My brothers, what use is it for anyone to say he has belief but does not have works? This belief is unable to save him.’
– Ya‛aqoḇ (James) 2:12-14
The Words of יהוה are Everlasting, Just Like Him
We view the Words, Torah, and Covenant of יהוה to be SET-APART as PURE, PERFECT, JUST, TRUSTWORTHY, and FOREVER.
‘“The Ěl – His way is perfect; The Word of יהוה is proven; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. “For who is Ěl, besides יהוה? And who is a rock, besides our Elohim? “Ěl is my mighty stronghold, And He makes my way perfect,’
– Shemu’ĕl Bĕt (2 Samuel) 22:31-33
‘The Words of יהוה are clean Words, Silver tried in a furnace of earth, Refined seven times. You guard them, O יהוה, You preserve them from this generation forever.’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 12:6-7
‘The Torah of יהוה is perfect, bringing back the being; The witness of יהוה is trustworthy, making wise the simple;’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 19:7
‘He has remembered His covenant forever, The Word He commanded, for a thousand generations’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 105:8
‘Forever, O יהוה, Your word stands firm in the heavens. Your trustworthiness is to all generations; You established the earth, and it stands. According to Your right-rulings They have stood to this day, For all are Your servants.’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 119:89-91
‘The sum of Your word is truth, And all Your righteous right-rulings are forever.’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 119:160
‘“Grass shall wither, the flower shall fade, but the Word of our Elohim stands forever.”’
– Yeshayah (Isaiah) 40:8
‘“For I am יהוה, I shall not change’
– Mal’aḵi (Malachi) 3:6
We understand the Torah and Commands of יהוה to be UNIVERSAL, applying to ALL OF MANKIND, ALWAYS and FOREVER.
‘There is one Torah for the native-born and for the stranger who sojourns among you.’
– Shemoth (Exodus) 12:49
‘One law is for you of the assembly and for the stranger who sojourns with you – a law forever throughout your generations. As you are, so is the stranger before יהוה. One Torah and one right-ruling is for you and for the stranger who sojourns with you.’ ”’
– Bemiḏbar (Numbers) 15:15-16
‘Let us hear the conclusion of the entire matter: Fear Elohim and guard His commands, for this applies to all mankind! For Elohim shall bring every work into right-ruling, including all that is hidden, whether good or whether evil.’
– Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes) 12:13-14
We also understand that יהוה shows NO PARTIALITY, whatsoever, with regard to our keeping of His Universal Torah and His Commands, condemning the use of differing weight and measures. This quality and consistency of our Father’s Character underscores the Purity and Perfection of His Justice.
‘‘Do no unrighteousness in right-ruling. Do not be partial to the poor or favour the face of the great, but rightly rule your neighbour in righteousness.’
– Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 19:15
‘“For יהוה your Elohim is Elohim of mighty ones and Master of masters, the great Ěl, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe.’
– Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 10:17
‘Differing weights and differing measures, Both of them are an abomination to יהוה. Even a child is known by his deeds, Whether his work is clear and right.’
– Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 20:10-11
‘Differing weights are an abomination to יהוה, And a false scale is not good.’
– Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 20:23
יהושע Messiah is Son of יהוה and His Living Word
יהושע Messiah was born when יהוה used His Breath to Speak Light into Being. In the Scroll of Bereshith, heis the very first and last Creation of our Father. All creation that ever has and ever will take place since that time does so through the Son.
‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. He was in the beginning with Elohim. All came to be through Him, and without Him not even one came to be that came to be. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 1:1-5
‘In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth. And the earth came to be formless and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit [“Breath”] of Elohim was moving on the face of the waters. And Elohim said, “Let light come to be,” and light came to be.’
– Berĕshith (Genesis) 1:1-3
‘And the Word became flesh and pitched His tent among us, and we saw His esteem, esteem as of an only brought-forth of a father, complete in favour and truth.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 1:14
‘And out of His completeness we all did receive, and favour upon favour, for the Torah was given through Mosheh – the favour and the truth came through יהושע Messiah. No one has ever seen Elohim. All came to be through Him, The only brought-forth Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He did declare.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 1:16-18
‘And about the middle of the festival יהושע went up into the Set-apart Place, and He was teaching. And the Yehuḏim were marvelling, saying, “How does this Man know letters, not having learned?” יהושע answered them and said, “My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 7:14-16
‘“I am the door. Whoever enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and shall go out and find pasture.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 10:9
‘יהושע said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 14:6
‘“Father, I desire that those whom You have given Me, might be with Me where I am, so that they see My esteem which You have given Me, because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 17:24
‘“I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.’
– Ḥazon (Revelation) 22:13
Meanwhile, יהוה described His Word as a precious lamp, a light and a way of life.
‘Nun Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 119:105
‘My son, watch over your father’s command, And do not forsake the Torah of your mother. Bind them on your heart always; Tie them around your neck. When you are walking about, it leads you; When you lie down, it guards you. And when you have woken up, It talks to you. For the command is a lamp, And the Torah a light, And reproofs of discipline a way of life,’
– Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 6:20-23
As the Living Walking Word of our Father, יהושע Messiah represents exactly that precious Lamp, Bearing the Light of Life.
‘Therefore יהושע spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall by no means walk in darkness, but possess the light of life.”’
– Yoḥanan (John) 8:12
יהושע Messiah described us as Children of Elohim and Sons of the Light, while fully restoring the knowledge that יהוה called us as Elohim and Children of the Most High in the Tehillim of King Dawid.
‘He was the true Light, which enlightens every man, coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world came to be through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the authority to become children of Elohim, to those believing in His Name, who were born, not of blood nor of the desire of flesh nor of the desire of man, but of Elohim.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 1:9-13
‘יהושע answered them, “Is it not written in your own Torah, ‘I said, “You are elohim” ’? “If He called them elohim, to whom the word of Elohim came – and it is impossible for the Scripture to be broken – do you say of Him whom the Father set apart and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of Elohim’?’
– Yoḥanan (John) 10:34-36
‘I, I said, “You are elohim, And all of you are sons of the Most High.’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 82:6
‘יהושע, therefore, said to them, “Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. And he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you become sons of light. These words יהושע spoke, and went off and was hidden from them.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 12:35-36
‘You are the light of the world. It is impossible for a city to be hidden on a mountain. “Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it shines to all those in the house. Let your light so shine before men, so that they see your good works and praise your Father who is in the heavens.’
– Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:14-16
As the Living Walking Word of our Father, יהושע Messiah also revealed himself to be the Bread of Life.
‘So they said to Him, “What sign then would You do, so that we see and believe You? What would You do? Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, as it has been written, ‘He gave them bread out of the heaven to eat.’ Therefore יהושע said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, Mosheh did not give you the bread out of the heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread out of the heaven. For the bread of Elohim is He who comes down out of the heaven and gives life to the world. So they said to Him, “Master, give us this bread always.” And יהושע said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall not get hungry at all, and he who believes in Me shall not get thirsty at all.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 6:30-35
יהושע Messiah reiterated the teaching from the Torah of Mosheh that the Word of יהוה is the Bread of Life.
‘And the trier came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of Elohim, command that these stones become bread.” But He answering, said, “It has been written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of יהוה.’ ”’
– Mattithyahu (Matthew) 4:3-4
‘And He humbled you, and let you suffer hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, to make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but by every Word that comes from the mouth of יהוה.’
– Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 8:3
Distinguishing Father from Son
According to the Word of יהוה, His Eternal and Self-Sufficient Existence has no beginning and no end, an ultimate truth about His Character that distinguishes Him from His Son, a Heavenly Being born of Him.
‘“Remember the former events of old, for I am Ěl, and there is no one else – Elohim, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from of old that which has not yet been done, saying, ‘My counsel does stand, and all My delight I do,’ calling a bird of prey from the east, the man who executes My counsel, from a distant land. Indeed I have spoken it, I also bring it to pass. I have planned it, I also do it.’
– Yeshayah (Isaiah) 46:9-11
יהושע Messiah described יהוה as being greater than himself.
‘“You heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away and I am coming to you.’ If you did love Me, you would have rejoiced that I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 14:28
Loving יהוה is Keeping His Commands
יהושע Messiah revealed to us that loving him and יהוה entails guarding and doing our Father’s Commands, just as he did as the Living Walking Word of our Father.
‘“Because I spoke not from Myself, but the Father who sent Me has given Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. “And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, as the Father has said to Me, so I speak.”’
– Yoḥanan (John) 12:49-50
‘“He who possesses My commands and guards them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and manifest Myself to him.”’
– Yoḥanan (John) 14:21
‘“As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Stay in My love. “If you guard My commands, you shall stay in My love even as I have guarded My Father’s commands and stay in His love.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 15:9-10
‘“This is My command, that you love one another, as I have loved you. “No one has greater love than this: that one should lay down his life for his friends. “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, for all teachings which I heard from My Father I have made known to you.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 15:12-15
יהושע Messiah promised those of us guarding and doing the Commands of יהוה would be gifted with the Spirit of Truth and a Helper called the Set-Apart Spirit, as well as Peace.
‘“If you love Me, you shall guard My commands. “And I shall ask the Father, and He shall give you another Helper, to stay with you forever – the Spirit of the Truth, whom the world is unable to receive, because it does not see Him or know Him. But you know Him, for He stays with you and shall be in you.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 14:15-17
‘יהושע answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our stay with him. “He who does not love Me does not guard My Words. And the Word which you hear is not Mine but of the Father Who sent Me. “These Words I have spoken to you while still with you. “But the Helper, the Set-apart Spirit, whom the Father shall send in My Name, He shall teach you all, and remind you of all that I said to you. “Peace I leave with you – My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 14:23-27
The Apostle Yochanan reiterated יהושע Messiah‘s teaching that loving him and יהוה meant guarding and doing our Father’s Commands while also loving ourselves as our neighbors.
‘And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands. The one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Elohim has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked. Beloved, I write no fresh command to you, but an old command which you have had from the beginning. The old command is the Word which you heard from the beginning.’
– Yoḥanan Aleph (1 John) 2:3-7
‘And we have this command from Him, that the one loving Elohim should love his brother too.’
– Yoḥanan Aleph (1 John) 4:21
‘And now I ask you, Kuria, not as though I wrote a fresh command to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. And this is the love, that we walk according to His commands. This is the command, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.’
– Yoḥanan Bĕt (2 John) 1:5-6
This teaching of יהושע Messiah represented a restoration of the Torah of Mosheh, when יהוה instructed His Children to love Him by guarding His Word forever.
‘“And you shall love יהוה your Elohim and guard His charge: even His laws, and His right-rulings, and His commands, always.’
– Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 11:1
Gentle Yoke of יהושע Messiah
We view the Ten Words of יהוה and the Two Great Commands of יהוה as representing the “gentle yoke“, “light burden”, and “rest” יהושע Messiah spoke of – commands which the Apostle Yochanan also described as being “not heavy“.
‘“Come to Me, all you who labour and are burdened, and I shall give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and humble in heart, and you shall find rest for your beings “For My yoke is gentle and My burden is light.”’
– Mattithyahu (Matthew) 11:28-30
‘By this we know that we love the children of Elohim, when we love Elohim and guard His commands. For this is the love for Elohim, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy’
– Yoḥanan Aleph (1 John) 5:2-3
יהושע Messiah taught us that taking up his gentle yoke makes us free from the binds of the heavy burdens placed upon us by hypocritical Scribes and Pharisees, who falsely exalt themselves while oppressing the Children of יהוה.
‘Then יהושע spoke to the crowds and to His taught ones, saying, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on the seat of Mosheh. Therefore, whatever they say to you to guard, guard and do. But do not do according to their works, for they say, and do not do. “For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders, but with their finger they do not wish to move them.’
– Mattithyahu (Matthew) 23:1-4
יהושע Messiah revealed that our righteousness under his gentle yoke must exceed the hypocritical Scribes and Pharisees in order to enter into the reign of Heaven, while noting that such men had been neglecting, forsaking, transgressing and nullify the Words of יהוה, both by setting them aside to guard their empty traditions, and by conveniently keeping the parts of Torah that garnered them social status, yet failing to uphold the weightier matters of Torah, namely justice and compassion.
‘Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to complete. For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one yod or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done. “Whoever, then, breaks one of the least of these commands, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the reign of the heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the reign of the heavens. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall by no means enter into the reign of the heavens.’
– Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:17-20
‘“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you tithe the mint and the anise and the cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the Torah: the right-ruling and the compassion and the belief. These need to have been done, without neglecting the others.’
–Mattithyahu (Matthew) 23:23
‘Then there came to יהושע scribes and Pharisees from Yerushalayim, saying, Why do Your taught ones transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread. But He answering, said to them, “Why do you also transgress the command of Elohim because of your tradition? “For Elohim has commanded, saying, ‘Respect your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ “But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me has been dedicated,” is certainly released from respecting his father or mother.’ So you have nullified the command of Elohim by your tradition. “Hypocrites! Yeshayahu rightly prophesied about you, saying, ‘This people draw near to Me with their mouth, and respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. ‘But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as teachings the commands of men.’ ”’
– Mattithyahu (Matthew) 15:1-9
‘Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, “Why do Your taught ones not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?” And He answering, said to them, “Well did Yeshayahu prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written, ‘This people respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain do they worship Me, teaching as teachings the commands of men.’ Forsaking the command of Elohim, you hold fast the tradition of men. And He said to them, “Well do you set aside the command of Elohim, in order to guard your tradition. “For Mosheh said, ‘Respect your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ “But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me, is Qorban (that is, a gift),” ’ you no longer let him do any matter at all for his father or his mother, nullifying the Word of Elohim through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such traditions you do.”’
– Marqos (Mark) 7:5-13
יהושע Messiah quoted the prophet, Yeshayah.
‘And יהוה says, “Because this people has drawn near with its mouth, and with its lips they have esteemed Me, and it has kept its heart far from Me, and their fear of Me has become a command of men that is taught!’
– Yeshayah (Isaiah) 29:13
יהושע Messiah tasked us with using his example to perfect ourselves in in preparation for our Renewed Covenant marriage with him before יהוה in our Father’s Kingdom of the Heavens.
‘Therefore, be perfect, as your Father in the heavens is perfect.’
– Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:48
‘And let endurance have a perfect work, so that you be perfect and complete, lacking in naught.’
– Ya‛aqoḇ (James) 1:4
‘Because it has been written, “Be set-apart, for I am set-apart.”’
– Kĕpha Aleph (1 Peter) 1:16
This teaching of יהושע Messiah once again represented a restoration of the Torah of Mosheh, when יהוה instructed His Children to be perfect and be Set-Apart, like Him.
‘And it is righteousness for us when we guard to do all this command before יהוה our Elohim, as He has commanded us.’’
– Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 6:25
‘“Be perfect before יהוה your Elohim,’
– Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 18:13
‘“Speak to all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl, and say to them, ‘Be set-apart, for I יהוה your Elohim am set-apart.’
– Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 19:2
Renewed Covenant of יהושע Messiah
We gratefully accept the Ten Words of יהוה and Two Great Commands of יהוה as the most pure, perfect, just, peaceful, and productive terms of the Renewed Covenant we have entered into with His Son, יהושע Messiah.
‘And as they were eating, יהושע took bread, and having blessed, broke and gave it to the taught ones and said, “Take, eat, this is My body.” And taking the cup, and giving thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. “For this is My blood, that of the renewed covenant, which is shed for many for the forgiveness of sins. “But I say to you, I shall certainly not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on till that day when I drink it anew with you in the reign of My Father.”’
– Mattithyahu (Matthew) 26:26-29
‘And as they were eating, יהושע took bread, having blessed, broke it, gave it to them and said, “Take, eat, this is My body.” And taking the cup, giving thanks, He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. And He said to them, “This is My blood, that of the renewed covenant, which is shed for many. Truly, I say to you, I shall certainly no more drink of the fruit of the vine till that day when I drink it anew in the reign of Elohim.’
– Marqos (Mark) 14:22-25
In the Book of Revelation, יהושע Messiah showed the Apostle Yochanan a future time involving those overcoming the beast and his image, while revealing that they sing the song of Mosheh and the song of the Lamb. We view these two songs as being the Ten Words of יהוה and Two Great Commands of יהוה, written on the heart, as described in the Torah of Mosheh and the Gospels of יהושע Messiah.
‘And I saw like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those overcoming the beast and his image and his mark and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of Elohim. And they sing the song of Mosheh the servant of Elohim, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvellous are Your works, יהוה Ěl Shaddai! Righteous and true are Your ways, O Sovereign of the set-apart ones! “Who shall not fear You, O יהוה, and esteem Your Name? Because You alone are kind. Because all nations shall come and worship before You, for Your righteousnesses have been made manifest.”’
– Ḥazon (Revelation) 15:2-4
Our Renewed Covenant with יהושע Messiah was originally spoken of by יהוה through His prophet, Yeshayah, then His prophet, Yirmeyahu, wherein our Father would place His Torah in our inward parts, and write it on our hearts.
‘Because יהוה has compassion on Ya‛aqoḇ, and shall again choose Yisra’ĕl, and give them rest in their own land. And the strangers shall join them, and they shall cling to the house of Ya‛aqoḇ.’
– Yeshayah (Isaiah) 14:1
‘“See, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “when I shall make a renewed covenant with the house of Yisra’ĕl and with the house of Yehuḏah, not like the covenant I made with their fathers in the day when I strengthened their hand to bring them out of the land of Mitsrayim, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,” declares יהוה. “For this is the covenant I shall make with the house of Yisra’ĕl after those days, declares יהוה: I shall put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it on their hearts. And I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people. “And no longer shall they teach, each one his neighbour, and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know יהוה,’ for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares יהוה. “For I shall forgive their crookedness, and remember their sin no more.”’
– Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 31:31-34
The Prophet Yirmeyahu was reiterating the original instructions from יהוה that we write His Words into our heart, loving them and walking in them in order to truly love Him, as originally written in the Torah of Mosheh and the Tehillim of Dawid.
‘“Today יהוה your Elohim is commanding you to do these laws and right-rulings. And you shall guard and do them with all your heart and with all your being.’
– Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 26:16
‘I have delighted to do Your pleasure, O my Elohim, And Your Torah is within my heart.”’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 40:8
‘My son, do not forget my Torah, And let your heart watch over my commands; For length of days and long life And peace they add to you. Let not loving-commitment and truth forsake you – Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, Thus finding favour and good insight In the eyes of Elohim and man. Trust in יהוה with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; Know Him in all your ways, And He makes all your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear יהוה and turn away from evil. It is healing to your navel, And moistening to your bones.’
– Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 3:1-8
From Original Covenant to Renewed Covenant
Ten Words First Written on Tablets of Stone, the Last, on Tablets of Heart
Heart of Stone Reborn into Circumsized Heart of Flesh
Through the Prophet Yehezqĕl (“Ezekiel”), יהוה revealed that He wrote His Ten Words in stone in order to signify the hard-heartedness and stiff-neckedness of His Children, while promising that He would gift them with a new heart of flesh upon which to write His Right-Rulings.
‘“And I shall give them one heart, and put a new spirit [“breath”] within you. And I shall take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, so that they walk in My laws, and guard My right-rulings, and shall do them. And they shall be My people and I shall be their Elohim.’
– Yehezqĕl (Ezekiel) 11:19-20
‘“And I shall give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. And I shall take the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I shall give you a heart of flesh, and put My Spirit within you. And I shall cause you to walk in My laws and guard My right-rulings and shall do them.’
– Yehezqĕl (Ezekiel) 36:26-27
In the Torah of Mosheh, יהוה instructed us to circumcise our heart of the flesh in order to truly love Him with all of our heart and all of our being.
‘And you shall circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and harden your neck no more.’
– Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 10:16
‘“And יהוה your Elohim shall circumcise your heart and the heart of your seed, to love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart and with all your being, so that you might live,’
– Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 30:6
יהוה searches the hearts and minds of His Children.
‘“As for you, my son Shelomoh, know the Elohim of your father, and serve Him with a perfect heart and with a pleasing life, for יהוה searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you do seek Him, He is found by you; but if you forsake Him, He rejects you forever.’
– Diḇre haYamim Aleph (1 Chronicles) 28:9
‘The eyes of יהוה are in every place, Watching the evil and the good.’
– Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 15:3
‘“I, יהוה, search the heart, I try the kidneys, and give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.’
– Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 17:10
‘Would Elohim not search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 44:21
יהושע Messiah revealed to us that each of us is a Set-Apart Temple to יהוה and the Kingdom of the Heavens is within us.
‘And the Yehuḏim answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You are doing these?” יהושע answered and said to them, “Destroy this Dwelling Place, and in three days I shall raise it.” Then the Yehuḏim said, “It took forty-six years to build this Dwelling Place, and You are going to raise it in three days?” But He spoke about the Dwelling Place of His body. So, when He was raised from the dead, His taught ones remembered that He said this to them. And they believed the Scripture and the word which יהושע had said.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 2:18-22
‘And having been asked by the Pharisees when the reign of Elohim would come, He answered them and said, “The reign of Elohim does not come with intent watching, nor shall they say, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ For look, the reign of Elohim is in your midst!”’
– Luqas (Luke) 17:20-21
יהושע Messiah restored the teaching that the Set-Apart Temple to יהוה is one that was not made by hands, as first spoken of by the Prophet Yeshayah.
‘“The Tent of Witness was with our fathers in the wilderness, as He appointed, instructing Mosheh to make it according to the pattern that he had seen, which our fathers, having received it in turn, also brought with Yehoshua into the land possessed by the nations, whom Elohim drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of Dawiḏ, who found favour before Elohim and asked to find a dwelling for the Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ, but Shelomoh built Him a house. “However, the Most High does not dwell in dwellings made with hands, as the prophet says: ‘The heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. What house shall you build for Me? says יהוה, or what is the place of My rest? ‘Has My hand not made all these?’ “You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Set-apart Spirit, as your fathers did, you also do. “Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who before announced the coming of the Righteous One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, who received the Torah as it was ordained by messengers, but did not watch over it.”’
– Ma`asei (Acts) 7:44-53
‘Thus said יהוה, “The heavens are My throne, and the earth is My footstool. Where is this house that you build for Me? And where is this place of My rest? “And all these My hand has made, and all these that exist,” declares יהוה. “Yet to such a one I look: on him who is poor and bruised of spirit, and who trembles at My Word.’
– Yeshayah (Isaiah) 66:1-2
The Tehillim of Dawid revealed the Spirit within each of us is the Eternal Lamp and Light of יהוה, searching all the inmost parts of His Children.
‘The spirit of a man is the lamp of יהוה, Searching all his inmost parts. Loving-commitment and truth watch over the sovereign, And he shall support his throne by loving-commitment.’
– Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 20:27-28
As the Eternal Lamp and Light of יהוה, His Son, יהושע Messiah revealed that He is within those of us who follow his Commands, just as our Father is within him because he perfectly and faithfully follows His Commands, noting that all of His Children will become perfected into one body.
‘“In that day you shall know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 14:20
‘“And I do not pray for these alone, but also for those believing in Me through their word, so that they all might be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, so that they too might be one in Us, so that the world might believe that You have sent Me. “And the esteem which You gave Me I have given them, so that they might be one as We are one, “I in them, and You in Me, so that they might be perfected into one, so that the world knows that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 17:20-23
יהושע Messiah Fulfils the Torah of יהוה
יהושע Messiah taught us that the ENTIRE Torah of Mosheh will be fulfilled.
‘And it is easier for the heaven and the earth to pass away than for one tittle of the Torah to fall.’
– Luqas (Luke) 16:17
Meanwhile, יהושע Messiah taught that the Torah of Mosheh, the Prophets and the Psalms of King Dawid all spoke of him.
‘And He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all have to be filled that were written in the Torah of Mosheh and the Prophets and the Tehillim concerning Me.” Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures’
– Luqas (Luke) 24:44-45
In keeping with the fulfillment of His Word, יהוה temporarily resurrected Mosheh and the Prophet, Eliyahu (“Elijah”), in order to introduce them to יהושע Messiah, while instructing them to listen to His Son.
”And there appeared to them Ěliyahu with Mosheh, and they were talking with יהושע. And Kĕpha responding, said to יהושע, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. And let us make three booths, one for You, and one for Mosheh, and one for Ěliyahu,” because he did not know what to say, for they were exceedingly afraid. And there came a cloud overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My Son, the Beloved. Hear Him!”’
– Marqos (Mark) 9:4-7
Failing to Keep and Do the Words of יהוה
We understand that anyone who chooses not to guard and do the Commands of יהוה commits sin, which is lawlessness.
‘He who turns away his ear from hearing the Torah, Even his prayer is an abomination.’
– Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 28:9
‘And we know that Elohim does not hear sinners. But if anyone fears Elohim and does His desire, He hears him.’
– Yoḥanan (John) 9:31
‘Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Everyone staying in Him does not sin. Everyone sinning has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one lead you astray. The one doing righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. The one doing sin is of the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Elohim was manifested: to destroy the works of the devil. Everyone having been born of Elohim does not sin, because His seed stays in him, and he is powerless to sin, because he has been born of Elohim. In this the children of Elohim and the children of the devil are manifest: Everyone not doing righteousness is not of Elohim, neither the one not loving his brother. Because this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, not as Qayin who was of the wicked one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because his works were wicked but those of his brother were righteous.’
– Yoḥanan Aleph (1 John) 3:4-12
‘We know that everyone having been born of Elohim does not sin, but the one having been born of Elohim guards himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.’
– Yoḥanan Aleph (1 John) 5:18
יהושע Messiah warned us that he will reject all workers of lawlessness, quoting a powerful phrase from the Tehillim of Dawid.
‘“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Master, Master,’ shall enter into the reign of the heavens, but he who is doing the desire of My Father in the heavens. “Many shall say to Me in that day, ‘Master, Master, have we not prophesied in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name, and done many mighty works in Your Name?’ “And then I shall declare to them, ‘I never knew you, depart from Me, you who work lawlessness!’’
– Mattithyahu (Matthew) 7:21-23
‘“Strive to enter through the narrow gate, because many, I say to you, shall seek to enter in and shall not be able. When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Master, Master, open for us,’ and He shall answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’ ” then you shall begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.’ “But He shall say, ‘I say to you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of unrighteousness.’’
– Luqas (Luke) 13:24-27
‘Depart from me, all you workers of wickedness; For יהוה has heard the voice of my weeping.’
– Tehillim (Psalms) 6:8
We reject the broad way of lawlessness that leads to death and destruction, grateful that יהושע Messiah taught us how to be Set-Apart from the stumbling-block of organized religion, which he repeatedly exposed as a carefully-crafted deception concocted by the age-old adversary of יהוה. We are dedicated to finding and walking the hard-pressed Way that leads to life to enter in through the Narrow Gate of the Kingdom of the Heavens, as יהוה instructed us to do. We understand that יהושע Messiah is the Door, the Way, the Truth, and the Light, while his words are the Bread of Life from the Heavens gifted to us by our Father, יהוה .
‘There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.’
– Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 14:12
‘“Enter in through the narrow gate! Because the gate is wide – and the way is broad – that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in through it. “Because the gate is narrow and the way is hard pressed which leads to life, and there are few who find it.’
– Mattithyahu (Matthew) 7:13-14
Guided by love for יהוה and His Children, Rayn and Thomas Kleipe-McSwain have worked diligently to compile and correlate this series of Set-Apart Scriptures and humbly present them to the Beloved Called-Out Assemblies of יהושע Messiah.
